How to take care of
your abacus
® clothes

To maintain the quality and functionality of the garments, it is necessary to wash and treat them in the best way. Follow our general tips how to care for your newly purchased abacus® clothing. We are afraid of our planet, by airing the clothes after use occasionally we reduce the number of washes and the release of chemicals. Below is more detailed washing advice for different types of garments.

Always read the washing instructions in each garment and follow the instructions carefully to maintain the garment's function and fit.

Sort the laundry correctly
Do not mix colors on the garments when washing your abacus® clothes. Sort out white/light, dark/black and colorful garments. This is to prevent any discoloration on the clothes while they are being washed.

Detergent
By choosing a mild detergent for your garments, you protect the condition of the garment, the environment, and your health. A liquid detergent leaves less residue behind and gives the garment a longer lifespan. The detergents that contain less perfume do not emit as much harmful substances that affect the environment. If the product contains a lot of perfume, this can also cause allergic reactions. Read through the environmental notes on the different brands of detergent to find the best option for you.

Do not use softener
Fabric softeners can do more harm than good for many materials. abacus® garments are made in unique constructions of materials that can lose their function when using fabric softener. Therefore, do not use softener when washing your abacus® clothes.

Wash garments containing synthetic materials
Synthetic material must be washed in a washing machine, maximum 30 degrees delicate wash. Do not tumble dry the garments, and do not hang them in direct sunlight, let them dry at room temperature. Does the garment need to be ironed? Use the lowest heat (one dot) on the iron.

Wash garments containing cotton
Some of our garments contain some cotton. These should be washed in a washing machine, 40 degrees. Do not tumble dry the garments, and do not hang them in direct sunlight, let them dry at room temperature. The garments can be ironed.

Wash rain clothes
Remember to close all pockets and zippers before washing your rain gear. Rainwear can be washed in a washing machine, 30 degrees. The garment must be washed regularly to maintain the function of the membrane that makes the garment breathable and waterproof. Dry the rainwear in a drying cabinet on low heat to activate the water-repellent surface treatment on the fabric, possibly air dry at room temperature. Rainwear should not be ironed.
