Winner: Charlie Lindh with an eagle on 18

Sometimes the best stories write themselves on the last hole
On June 7th (the day after Swedish National Day) Charlie Lindh stood on the 18th fairway in Morocco and he was tied for the lead. His childhood friend Isac Bondesson was on the bag.

Four-shot victory and 18 under par. Best round of the tournament on the final day, which meant a first title on the Asian Tour.

The 28-year-old from a village of fewer than 600 people near Kristianstad had been in electric form coming into the week, fresh off a runner-up at the Kolon Korea Open. He played Saturday exactly as he said he would: aggressive from the first hole, firing at every flag, trusting a game that had been building for months.

He played the week in Abacus
"I have been very, very excited to play golf the last couple of months, because the game has been feeling better," Lindh said after signing his card. "I think I'm still focused, but when everything settles a little bit, I will realise what I have done today."

The win moves him to third on the Asian Tour Order of Merit and 305th in the world rankings. Next stop: the International Series Morocco, worth two million dollars.

Grattis, Charlie!
